Please sign in to see more. My father John meet my mum Vera during ww2 he was stationed in Uk with RAAF Mum has told me stories over the years about the bombing raids , family and working life , going to s shelters , putting out fires .
Mum sailed for Aust in 1946 and together Mum and Dad built a family home still standing to this day have many treasured memories of growing up in a loving family .
My Jebbett family links are in Nuneaton/ Chilvers Coton areas of Warwickshire & Higham on Hill / Hinckley areas of Leicester.
Edward 111 , links in with Jebbett family tree with the marriage of William Jebbett & Harriett Jebson in 1853 , Harriet Jebson family links back to Hastings family of Lutterworth & this Hastings family line were the Earls of Huntingdon .
With the marriage of Francis Hastings 2nd earl & Catherine Pole in 1532 the family tree links back to Edward 111.
Jebbett family worked as Hatters , but there are railway men , carpenters , ag labourers , connections in family too .
My grandfather John E Jebbett worked as a Telegraph messenger , hatter then warehouse man he was a member of the territorials then served in ww1, I was unable to locate his records , but know he was in a mounted reg. and his horse was called topsy , found alittle more info on granddad John his regiment no 1347 1/7th btn royal warwickshire reg pte then he was in the
143rd machine gun corp reg no 54947 sgt.

4 th aug 1914 Coventry warwickshire bridage sth midland div to chelmsford area 22 March 1915 Landed at Le Havre formation became 143rd Brigade 48th divsion nov 1917 to Italy

he had an artist talent and could sketch horses , that
talent he passed onto his daughter Vera ( my mother ) .He also had a love of the royal family and would run across fields to see a train that Queen Victoria was travelling in.
sadly he died in 1935 when my mother was only 11 .
Gran Ada meet Granddad John in a fish shop ( unknown if they worked there ), Gran worked as a weaver, did bar work in golf club and was a sunday school teacher .She visited Australia in 1960 , & went back to England in 1965 , shortly after her return Gran was knocked down while crossing a zebra crossing , sadly passing away not long after ( Love you Bram xx)
Mallabone family were Miners ,my 4th g grandfather John Mallabone 1793-1874 Nuneaton won a fist fight , and from the winning 50 pounds , brought lic. of Colliers Arms, college st chilvers coton , the pub stayed in the mallabone family until 1930's ,Daisy Mallabone Boon was the last family link to pub.
John Jebson my 3rd g grandfather 1789-1839 was a baker and lived in Abbey St Nuneaton , the Jebson line were originally from Wirksworth Derbyshire.
James Wheway my 5th g grandfather 1727-1810 was a turner had a shop in church st Nuneaton . The Wheway family had strong links in Nuneaton and were PArish clerks , bell rings.
Henry Hastings my 6th ggrandfather 1701-1786 was orphaned at 14 years , he married Elizabeth Hudson 1727 in Lutterworth Church .
Joseph Croshaw my 4th ggrandfather 1747-1818 Nuneaton was a butcher,he married Sarah Wheway 1772 Nuneaton.
Timothy White my ggrandfather 1859-1912 was born in dudley port staffordhsire he was a railway man married Elizabeth Brown 1884 in Attleborough, in 1891 they lived in Bond St Nuneaton, by 1901 they were living in Garrett St Attleborough.
Joseph White my 2nd ggrandfather 1827-1901 was born in Barby Northampton he married Mary Williams ( nee Salisbury) , Mary was a widow , the family lived in Dudley / Tipton Staffordshire.
William White my 3 rd ggrandfather 1781-1849 was born in Barby Northampton he worked as a carpenter, he married Mary Perkins in 1824 barby.
My Downey family links are in Conahy Ballyragget areas of Kilkenny in Ireland . I recently located abit more information on my 2nd great grandparents John Downey born around 1781 died 1870 in conahy & Mary Bergen born 1786 died 1856 Conahy

My grandfather John Downey arrived in Australia in 1911, he worked on a farm in Warwick later joining the Q'ld Police Force he married Alice Ellen Mc Conkey 1918 at St Stephens Cathedral Brisbane . Grandda nominated his brother Patrick & sister Ellen , they arrived in Aust. in 1912 .
Mc Conkey family are from Belfast Ireland , my 2nd ggrandmother Jane imm to Aust in 1880's along with most of her children.
My 2nd ggrandfather Joseph worked as a Tinsmith and died 1881 Belfast. I recently located info on McConkey line relating to accidents Alexander was knocked down by a train shunting and was dangerously ill in hosp for sometime he recovered ,other Mc Conkey items I have saved into family folder on search site .
